Kitchen Work at Plimoth Plantation - The History Trekker Shoppe at History and Haunts

Pilgrim woman peeling apple at Plimoth Plantation

When you step into one of the houses at Plimoth Plantation the room closes around you. It's dim, smoky and if you're away from the fire or out of the sun, quite chilly. Working in the doorway not only gave you light, but a bit of fresh air as well. The smell of wood smoke in the hearth is intoxicating, but when you breathe it all day, it's not intoxicating in a good way.

Plimoth Plantation is like heaven for those of us who wish we were Dutch genre paintings. I sometimes wonder if I was Vermeer in a former life. Fine art print of Pilgrim woman peeling apples, catching the sun. Great to brighten up a dark corner of your room.
